Flower power

It seems that, finally, designer collaborations have kind of played themselves out. No longer “new news”, stores like Target have actually gotten better/worse about meeting the demand brought on by such partnerships. Better because they’ve managed to figure out how to time releases so that people in different time zones can have a good chance of getting what they want, and worse because, as seen with the Kirna Zabete collab that had lots of extras left in stores, the exclusivity seems to have been taken away from it.

I get it, it’s a fine line between supply and demand, and not losing out to people who post them for astronomical prices on eBay. Still, I can’t seem to wax poetic about the latest collabs like Margiela and H&M and Prabal Gurung for Target. Out of the entire Prabal Gurung collection, this was my only must-have, which makes me think again that more isn’t necessarily better when it comes to this kind of thing. I ordered the shoes and shirtdress as well, but returned them immediately.

So, switching gears, I was so happy to get this sweatshirt that was warm enough for a San Francisco day yet cool enough that I wasn’t overheating during brunch. You don’t really need much to dress up this top. As Mr. D pointed out, there was no way I was getting lost—unless I hid behind one of the flower stalls at the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market.

top, prabal gurung for target; pants, asos; sneakers, h&m; wristlet, gifted
